Chelsea Targets Juventus Striker Dušan Vlahović
Chelsea is eyeing Juventus forward Dušan Vlahović to bolster their attack amid the club's search for a reliable striker.
Chelsea Football Club has set its sights on signing Dušan Vlahović, the Serbian striker currently playing for Juventus. As the London club struggles to find a consistent goal scorer, Vlahović has emerged as a prime target for the January transfer window.
At just 24 years old, Vlahović has established himself as one of Serie A’s top strikers. This season, he has scored 12 goals for Juventus, contributing to his overall tally of 32 goals in two seasons since joining from Fiorentina. Despite his productivity, Juventus appears open to offers for the forward as they aim to reduce their wage bill and address financial challenges.
Vlahović’s tenure at Juventus has not been without its difficulties. He faced criticism from fans after a controversial draw against Venezia last month and has yet to finalize a contract extension beyond 2026. These factors, combined with Juventus’s willingness to listen to substantial offers, have fueled speculation about his potential departure.
For Chelsea, securing Vlahović would address a pressing need. Nicolas Jackson, the club’s 23-year-old forward, began the season strongly but has failed to find the back of the net in his last six appearances. Meanwhile, Christopher Nkunku is reportedly considering a return to Germany, with Bayern Munich expressing interest, though hesitant to meet Chelsea’s £65 million valuation.
Additionally, Juventus is reportedly interested in Chelsea defender Renato Veiga, who could serve as a replacement for the injured Gleison Bremer. Veiga, signed from Basel for £12 million, is valued by Chelsea at £29 million, presenting an opportunity for a profitable transfer. If agreed upon, this move could pave the way for a potential deal involving Vlahović.
In parallel, Chelsea is finalizing the signing of defender Mamadou Sarr from Strasbourg, a move aimed at bolstering their defensive depth. Sarr is expected to remain with Strasbourg until the summer before joining the Blues.
With these strategic moves, Chelsea is demonstrating its intent to strengthen its squad and compete at the highest level, both domestically and in Europe.
