Ian Rush Warns Mohamed Salah: 'Don't Leave Liverpool; You'll Regret It'
Liverpool legend Ian Rush advises Mohamed Salah to remain at Anfield, cautioning that a departure could lead to regret, drawing from his own experience.
Ian Rush, Liverpool's all-time leading scorer with 336 goals, has urged Mohamed Salah to reconsider any plans to leave the club at the end of the season. Rush believes that departing Anfield could lead to regret, much like his own experience after leaving Liverpool.
In a recent interview, Rush stated, 'I hope Salah extends his contract with Liverpool. We don't know what will happen, but I'm sure all Liverpool fans share this hope.' Reflecting on his own career, Rush added, 'I left Liverpool because I wasn't playing regularly and wanted more game time, so I joined Leeds United. Looking back, I wish I had stayed and fought for my place.'
Rush emphasized that Salah is still a key player for Liverpool and doesn't face the same challenges that prompted his own departure. 'Salah hasn't reached the point of being a substitute at Liverpool,' he noted. 'Therefore, there's no reason for him to leave, and I believe he would regret it if he did.'
