Real Madrid’s Resilience: Triumph Amidst Challenges

Real Madrid, under the leadership of Carlo Ancelotti, has achieved remarkable success despite unprecedented challenges. Since Thibaut Courtois’ knee injury in August 2023, the team has won La Liga, the Champions League, the Spanish and European Super Cups, and the Intercontinental Cup.

Real faced five major knee injuries within 15 months, particularly impacting their defensive line. These setbacks began with Courtois’ injury just before La Liga’s start, followed by other key defenders being sidelined.

The first title post-injuries was the Spanish Super Cup. Despite missing Courtois, Militao, and Alaba, Madrid defeated Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals and crushed Barcelona 4-1 in the final, marking a strong comeback. Ukrainian goalkeeper Lunin stepped up, replacing Kepa, and his performances secured Madrid’s defense.

As 2025 approaches, Real Madrid is focused on maintaining their La Liga lead and pursuing additional trophies, including the Super Cup, Copa del Rey, and the revamped Club World Cup.
