Barcelona is hopeful that young forward Lamine Yamal will recover from his ankle injury in time to participate in the Spanish Supercopa semifinals against Athletic Bilbao on January 8.

Barcelona Optimistic About Lamine Yamal's Return for Supercopa

Lamine Yamal sustained an ankle sprain during Barcelona's match against Leganés on December 15, which sidelined him for the subsequent game against Atlético Madrid. Medical reports indicated a recovery period of three to four weeks, casting doubt on his availability for the Spanish Supercopa.

According to Marca, the club is now optimistic about Yamal's participation in the Supercopa, with the semifinal against Athletic Bilbao scheduled for January 8 in Saudi Arabia. His daily rehabilitation sessions have progressed well, increasing the likelihood of his readiness for the tournament.

Despite this optimism, Barcelona intends to proceed cautiously with Yamal's recovery. While his progress is encouraging, he has yet to rejoin full team training sessions. Head coach Hansi Flick, known for his careful approach to player comebacks post-injury, will make the final decision on Yamal's inclusion in the squad.

Similarly, forward Ferran Torres, who suffered an injury before the Christmas break, is undergoing a comparable recovery process. It remains to be seen whether the Valencian striker will be fully fit to compete in the Supercopa.
