Lamine Yamal's Agent Confirms Imminent Contract Renewal with Barcelona
Jorge Mendes, agent of Barcelona's young talent Lamine Yamal, has confirmed that the player is set to sign a new contract with the club, extending his stay beyond 2026.
Lamine Yamal, the 17-year-old prodigy from Barcelona's famed La Masia academy, is on the verge of extending his contract with the Catalan giants. His agent, Jorge Mendes, has assured fans that the renewal is imminent. Mendes stated, "Of course, Lamine Yamal will sign a new contract with Barcelona. He is a fan of Barça. This will happen very soon. Just wait."
Yamal, who has been instrumental for both Barcelona and the Spanish national team, currently has a contract running until 2026. The new agreement is expected to extend his stay until 2030, with a substantial release clause to ward off interest from other European clubs.
In addition to contract discussions, Yamal is currently sidelined due to an ankle injury sustained during a match against CD Leganés. The club has confirmed that he will be out of action for approximately three to four weeks.
Despite this setback, both the player and his representatives remain optimistic about his recovery and future contributions to the team. Mendes commented on the injury, saying, "This is something he will successfully recover from. He will be fine very soon."
