Al-Nassr's journey in the AFC Champions League ended in the quarter-finals, where they were eliminated by Al-Ain in a penalty shootout. In domestic cup competitions, they faced a penalty shootout defeat against Al-Hilal in the King's Cup final and an early exit in the Round of 16 of the Saudi King's Cup following a loss to Al-Taawoun. Additionally, Al-Nassr suffered a 4-1 defeat to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup.
On the international stage, Ronaldo's fortunes were similarly disappointing. Portugal exited UEFA Euro 2024 in the quarter-finals after a goalless draw and subsequent penalty shootout loss to France. Notably, Ronaldo did not score in the tournament, a first in his European Championship appearances.
Throughout 2024, Ronaldo participated in 51 matches for Al-Nassr and Portugal, recording 43 goals and 7 assists. While reaching a career total of 916 goals is a commendable milestone, the absence of team silverware underscores a year where Ronaldo's ambitions remained unfulfilled.
