Conceição Aims to Disappoint His Son in Upcoming Juventus Clash
AC Milan's new head coach, Sérgio Conceição, discusses the professional challenge of facing his son, Francisco, who plays for Juventus, in the upcoming Supercoppa Italiana semifinal.
In a recent press conference, Sérgio Conceição, the newly appointed head coach of AC Milan, addressed the unique situation of competing against his son, Francisco Conceição, a player for Juventus, in the forthcoming Supercoppa Italiana semifinal. Conceição stated, "At home, I am his father; tomorrow, my son will be my opponent. I want to defeat him, just as he wants to defeat me. I hope not to make him happy."
He further commented on Francisco's development, noting, "He possesses the qualities of a high-caliber player, both technically and in game understanding. He has good physical capabilities and has grown accordingly. I'm pleased to have coached him; he has a strong character and knows that playing against my teams is not easy. He can become a great player, whether in Italy or elsewhere."
Reflecting on his initial days with AC Milan, Conceição observed, "I have seen a humble and motivated team eager to learn and understand what the new coach wants. We had limited time to work, but I was decisive in conveying my ideas and what is needed."
Regarding the challenges ahead, he remarked, "I am aware that the situation is not ideal, but we must change it, and only we can do that ourselves."
