Speaking after the match, Ruben Amorim, Manchester United's manager, expressed both joy and a commitment to improvement. "We scored the opening goal and started to build momentum. Even after Diogo Dalot's red card, I felt confident today was our day," Amorim said, reflecting on the game.
Amorim acknowledged the team’s perseverance, stating, "The victory brings immense happiness to our fans and players, but we cannot settle for this. Our performance must reach a higher level."
One controversial moment was a penalty decision against United. Addressing this, Amorim commented, "It was far from my view, but our players were adamant it wasn’t a penalty. We’ll focus on what lies ahead rather than dwell on this."
With ten men on the field, Manchester United faced an uphill battle. "Arsenal is challenging to press even with eleven players, so doing so with ten required extraordinary effort," Amorim remarked.
The standout performance came from goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, who made several crucial saves. "This week has been transformative for Altay. Moments like these can change a player's career," Amorim said, hinting at Bayindir's potential as the first-choice goalkeeper.
Amorim also highlighted Joshua Zirkzee's role in the victory. "A few weeks ago, he faced criticism from fans. Today, their support was overwhelming, and he delivered under pressure. Success requires humility and dedication," Amorim added.
On set-piece defense, Amorim praised his coaching staff, saying, "Our preparation for defending set-pieces was excellent. Credit goes to my assistants, who meticulously plan these strategies and selected the right players for penalties."
Regarding Marcus Rashford, Amorim stated, "Rashford is a dedicated Manchester United player. His love for this club is evident. My job is to make the best choices for the team, and every decision is made with that in mind."
