Al-Hilal Signs 20-Year-Old Winger for €9 Million
Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal has secured the signing of Brazilian winger Kayky Cezar from Vitória Guimarães for €9 million on a three-year deal.
Al-Hilal, one of Saudi Arabia’s most prominent football clubs, has officially announced the signing of Kayky Cezar, a 20-year-old Brazilian winger, from Portuguese club Vitória Guimarães. The deal, worth €9 million (approximately 750 billion tomans), reflects the club’s commitment to investing in young talent for the future.
The three-year contract was finalized in Paris, with Al-Hilal President Fahad bin Nafel personally overseeing the negotiations and signing. The move also benefits Kayky’s former club, Coritiba, as they are entitled to 40% of the transfer fee, amounting to €3.6 million, due to a prior agreement regarding the player’s rights.
Vitória Guimarães initially acquired Kayky on loan from Coritiba, with an obligation to make the transfer permanent for €1.5 million in July 2024. However, Al-Hilal’s interest accelerated the timeline, prompting Vitória to finalize the sale earlier than expected.
Kayky has been regarded as one of the most promising young wingers in South America, known for his pace, technical skills, and ability to create scoring opportunities. His transfer to Al-Hilal signifies the club’s ambition to strengthen their squad with young, dynamic players who can contribute both domestically and in international competitions like the AFC Champions League.
This signing aligns with Al-Hilal’s broader strategy of building a balanced team comprising experienced stars and emerging talents. As the Saudi Pro League continues to grow in prominence, attracting top-tier talent from across the globe, moves like this underscore the league’s rising stature in the footballing world.
