Jürgen Klopp Considers Erik ten Hag for RB Leipzig Managerial Role

RB Leipzig's current head coach, Marco Rose, is under significant pressure following a series of poor performances, including a 5-1 defeat to Wolfsburg and a winless streak in the Champions League. As a result, the club's management is evaluating potential successors to steer the team back on course.

According to reports from Sky Germany, Jürgen Klopp, who is set to assume the role of Global Head of Football at Red Bull in January, is considering Erik ten Hag for the managerial position at RB Leipzig. Ten Hag, who was dismissed from Manchester United in October after a challenging start to the Premier League season, has been on a sabbatical since his departure.

The potential appointment of Ten Hag is intriguing, given his previous rivalry with Klopp during their respective tenures at Manchester United and Liverpool. Their head-to-head record includes two wins, two draws, and three losses for Ten Hag against Klopp's teams.

Other candidates for the RB Leipzig role include former Benfica manager Roger Schmidt, who previously managed RB Salzburg. However, Schmidt is reportedly hesitant to take on a new position mid-season.

The final decision will rest with Klopp, who will oversee managerial appointments across Red Bull's football clubs. His close relationship with Marco Rose, whom he managed at Mainz, adds complexity to the decision-making process.
