Juventus Director: Confident in Vlahovic, No Rush for Renewal
Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli assures fans of a strong relationship with Dusan Vlahovic, emphasizing there’s no urgency for a contract extension before the January transfer window closes.
After Juventus' recent 2-2 draw, tensions rose between players and fans, with ultras expressing dissatisfaction over the team's Serie A performance. Cristiano Giuntoli, Juventus' sporting director, addressed these concerns, stating, "We have faced numerous matches with limited rotation options due to injuries, impacting our results. Both we and the fans are disappointed when we don’t win, but unity is crucial moving forward."
Speaking about contract talks with star striker Dusan Vlahovic, who has been linked to clubs like Arsenal, Giuntoli commented, "Our relationship with Vlahovic and his representatives is excellent. His contract still has time, and we’ll sit down to discuss it after the January transfer window. There’s no reason to rush."
Under new coach Thiago Motta, Juventus remains unbeaten in Serie A this season, though they've recently faced four consecutive draws. Giuntoli reflected, "We started fresh with a new coach and system. Early injuries slowed our momentum. The team initially displayed attractive football and strong defensive performances. However, the congested schedule has tested us. Unity is key, and we aim to strengthen the squad with at least one defender in January."
