Jose Mourinho Expresses Desire to See Nico Williams at Real Madrid
Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho praises Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams, expressing his hope to see the young talent join Real Madrid in the future.
Jose Mourinho, manager of Fenerbahce, has expressed his admiration for Nico Williams, the talented winger of Athletic Bilbao. Speaking ahead of Fenerbahce's Europa League match against Bilbao, Mourinho remarked, "Nico Williams is incredible. People have been focusing on Lamine Yamal during the Euros, who is undoubtedly a fantastic player, but personally, I prefer Nico. He's an exceptional talent."
Addressing the likelihood of Turkish clubs signing such players, Mourinho commented, "It's impossible to think that a Turkish club could sign this kid. I hope he eventually goes to Real Madrid."
Mourinho, who previously managed Real Madrid, also shared his enduring support for the club: "I consider myself a big Real Madrid fan. Should I return? They have the best coach in the world, my friend Carlo Ancelotti, who is doing a great job."
Nico Williams, 21, has been a standout performer for Athletic Bilbao, drawing interest from major European clubs, including Real Madrid and Barcelona. His contract with Bilbao is set to expire in 2025, making him a potential target for upcoming transfer windows.
