Doha, Qatar, is set to host the final three matches of the 2024 FIFA Club World Cup, determining the tournament's last champion under its current format.
Doha, Qatar, is poised to host the decisive matches of the 2024 FIFA Club World Cup, marking the final edition under the existing format. The matches are scheduled for December 11, 14, and 18, with the grand finale set to crown the world's top club.
The first match, taking place at Stadium 974, features Botafogo, the recent Copa Libertadores champions, against Pachuca of Mexico, the CONCACAF Champions League winners. Botafogo clinched their inaugural Libertadores title less than ten days ago and recently secured their first Brazilian Serie A championship in 29 years, entering the tournament with heightened confidence.
The winner of this encounter will face Al Ahly of Egypt on December 14 at the same venue. Al Ahly, Africa's most decorated club with 12 CAF Champions League titles, aims to add a global accolade to their impressive record.
The tournament culminates on December 18 at the iconic Lusail Stadium, where the victor from the semifinal will challenge Real Madrid for the championship. Lusail Stadium, renowned as the 'Jewel' among Qatar's World Cup venues, provides a fitting stage for this climactic showdown.
In addition to utilizing Qatar's premier stadiums, the participating teams will have access to state-of-the-art training facilities that previously hosted top national teams during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, ensuring optimal preparation conditions.
