Luis Enrique: 'We Won, But Our Performance Was Inferior to Previous Matches'

Following a 3-0 victory over Salzburg in the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique conveyed his dissatisfaction with the team's performance. He remarked, "Honestly, I don't think we played better tonight than we did against Atlético Madrid or PSV. However, we couldn't afford to drop points again."

Enrique acknowledged the team's need for progress, stating, "I accept that this team has room for improvement. Scoring multiple goals tonight was crucial because, on the final day, a team might be eliminated due to fewer goals scored."

He also highlighted the significance of a particular goal, describing it as "a masterpiece that demonstrates how to break free from pressure swiftly."

Regarding Nuno Mendes' offensive contributions as a left-back, Enrique noted, "Due to his technical and physical attributes, we've asked him to push forward more. He completes the defensive triangle at the back and contributes offensively. Currently, he's playing higher up, but this could change depending on our opponent."
