Alisson Becker: 'We Are Not Machines; Liverpool Will Face Challenging Days'
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker emphasizes the inevitability of difficult times ahead, urging resilience and consistent performance as the team navigates the season.
In a candid reflection, Alisson Becker, the esteemed goalkeeper of Liverpool FC, acknowledged that the team is bound to encounter challenging periods, underscoring the importance of perseverance and unity.
Following Liverpool's 1-0 victory over Girona in the UEFA Champions League, which maintained their perfect record in the competition, Alisson shared his thoughts on the team's journey. He remarked, 'It's great to be back. Every hour, every training session was worth it to return to the field and help the team secure three points. Experiencing a clean sheet again feels wonderful.'
Alisson extended his gratitude to Liverpool's exceptional medical team, physiotherapists, family, and friends for their unwavering support during his two-month absence. He expressed his eagerness for the upcoming challenge against Fulham, stating, 'We have a big challenge ahead on Saturday. I believe the season has just begun for us, and we need to deliver our best performance against a tough opponent to earn the three points.'
Addressing the team's resilience, Alisson noted, 'This is part of being a winning team. Throughout history, many teams have not performed well but ultimately became champions. To achieve consistency, we must win every game, regardless of our performance.' He added, 'Of course, we are not machines, and there will be days when things don't go as planned. But the good thing about football is that every three days, you have the opportunity to make amends.'
Alisson also expressed his anticipation for returning to Anfield, saying, 'I'm looking forward to it. Anfield is always special, and facing a strong opponent like Fulham, who play really well, will be a tough match. I'm excited to see the Liverpool fans at Anfield again.'
