Fonseca's Outburst: 'I'm Tired of This' – Frustration Mounts Over AC Milan's Inconsistencies
AC Milan manager Paulo Fonseca expressed deep frustration with his team's inconsistent performances following a narrow 2-1 victory over Red Star Belgrade in the UEFA Champions League, emphasizing the need for unwavering commitment and effort.
After AC Milan's hard-fought 2-1 win against Red Star Belgrade in the UEFA Champions League, manager Paulo Fonseca voiced significant frustration regarding his team's inconsistent performances. Despite securing three points, Fonseca was dissatisfied with the overall display.
In the post-match press conference, Fonseca stated, 'I am someone who cannot be satisfied with just the result. I must say that I am only happy with the result, and the most important thing was that we got the three points. Now we are in a good position in the table, but I am tired of fighting against certain issues and am not satisfied with the team's performance.'
When asked about the specific issues, he responded, 'I need to talk to the team. I don't want to talk too much about this and intend to analyze the game. This is not a tactical or technical matter. We reached this decisive game, and it feels like we are not giving our all to win, and that's the worst feeling.'
Fonseca further elaborated on the team's inconsistency, saying, 'The problem is that our team resembles a peak and a valley. Today we are good, but I don't know about tomorrow. It always seems that our fate is determined by chance. This is really not interesting.'
He emphasized the need for collective effort, stating, 'This is a problem. I know that I work every day to be good, but I don't know if the whole team can say that. We are obliged to do everything we can to win, but tonight we didn't. I need to talk to the team about what happened on the field. They need to understand that this should not happen again.'
