Javier Tebas: 'La Liga Isn't Decided in Week Seven; Real Madrid Has Returned!'

Javier Tebas, the President of La Liga, has addressed recent speculations regarding the early conclusion of the league title race. He emphasized that declaring a champion by the seventh week is premature, noting that both Real Madrid and Barcelona are expected to contend fiercely until the final weeks.

In a recent statement, Tebas remarked, "You journalists are very hasty, thinking the league is decided in week seven. The league is very long, and some had already declared Barça as champions and considered Madrid finished. You see that Real Madrid has returned quickly."

He further commented on the unpredictability of football, referencing the signing of Kylian Mbappé: "With the signing of Mbappé, it was said that Real would win the league without playing. This is football; there are no guarantees."

Tebas also expressed optimism regarding Barcelona's registration of Dani Olmo for the second half of the season, stating, "I hope and wish that Barça succeeds; I am positive about this. I am optimistic. They always manage in the end, but we will see. Besides, he is a player I like a lot."

Addressing efforts to combat racism, Tebas highlighted ongoing measures at the judicial level and sanctions against spectators for racist insults, as occurred with Lamine Yamal in El Clásico. He affirmed, "Our commitment is clear and undeniable, and we will continue with this commitment. It is our duty."
