Fran Torres, affectionately known as 'The Shark', has returned to peak form, delivering vital goals for Barcelona during a critical phase of the season. In December, he found the net in every match he played for the club, showcasing his exceptional goal-scoring abilities.

His standout performance came against Borussia Dortmund in Germany, where Torres scored two decisive goals, bringing Hansi Flick's team closer to the Champions League Round of 16. His first goal, just four minutes after entering the pitch, put Barcelona ahead 2-1. He later secured the 3-2 victory with another strike, effectively silencing the home crowd and halting Dortmund's offensive momentum.

Torres's recent goal-scoring streak includes matches against Mallorca, Real Betis, and Borussia Dortmund. This marks the first time he has scored in three consecutive games since joining the Catalan club. After recovering from an injury, he made a brief appearance against Las Palmas on November 30, signaling his return to form.

Against Mallorca, Torres was in the starting lineup and scored in the 12th minute. At the Benito Villamarín Stadium, he entered as a substitute in the 60th minute and scored in the 82nd. In Germany, Flick introduced him in the 71st minute, and he found the net in the 75th and 85th minutes. These were his first goals in this season's Champions League, having previously played only 11 minutes against Young Boys.

His contributions also ended Borussia Dortmund's impressive home record in the Champions League, where they had been unbeaten since November 2021, spanning 13 matches.

After the match, Torres stated, "I came on to help the team because they were really pushing. This is one of those games that unites the team even more. We endured difficulties; they equalized twice, but instead of getting discouraged, we responded very well."
