CAF Announces Final Nominees for African Player of the Year 2024

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the final shortlist for the 2024 African Player of the Year award, featuring five outstanding players who have excelled in both club and international football. The nominees are:

• Simon Adingra (Côte d'Ivoire / Brighton & Hove Albion): The Ivorian winger has been instrumental in Brighton's impressive Premier League campaign, showcasing remarkable skill and consistency.
• Serhou Guirassy (Guinea / Borussia Dortmund): After a prolific season with VfB Stuttgart, where he scored 30 goals in 30 matches, Guirassy continued his goal-scoring form following his transfer to Borussia Dortmund.
• Achraf Hakimi (Morocco / Paris Saint-Germain): Renowned for his defensive solidity and offensive contributions, Hakimi has been a key figure in PSG's domestic and European endeavors.
• Ademola Lookman (Nigeria / Atalanta): Lookman has been in exceptional form, playing a pivotal role in Atalanta's Serie A pursuits and their triumph in the UEFA Europa League, where he notably scored a hat-trick in the final.
• Ronwen Williams (South Africa / Mamelodi Sundowns): The South African goalkeeper has delivered stellar performances both for his club and the national team, contributing significantly to their successes.

The winner will be announced at the CAF Awards ceremony on December 16, 2024, in Marrakech, Morocco. This event celebrates the exceptional talents and achievements of African footballers over the past year.
