Federico Chiesa Faces Limited Playing Time at Liverpool

Liverpool manager Arne Slot acknowledges the challenges in integrating Federico Chiesa into the starting lineup due to his prolonged absence from competitive matches.

Federico Chiesa Faces Limited Playing Time at Liverpool

Federico Chiesa's transition from Juventus to Liverpool during the recent summer transfer window has been marred by difficulties, primarily stemming from injury setbacks. Since his move, Chiesa has accumulated only 78 minutes across various competitions, with a solitary start following the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament.

Addressing Chiesa's limited involvement, manager Arne Slot stated: "The challenge lies in the frequency of our matches. He requires more playing time to regain full fitness. After a five or six-month hiatus, it's challenging to field him as a starter without clear expectations of his performance. While training sessions offer some insight, they don't replicate match conditions. The upcoming fixture against Southampton might present an opportunity for him to gain valuable minutes, allowing for a more accurate assessment."
