Rene Meulensteen: 'No Hard Feelings Towards Manchester United'

Rene Meulensteen, former coach at Manchester United, recently discussed his departure from the club, highlighting the amicable nature of his exit. Meulensteen, 52, joined United in the summer as part of a significant overhaul under then-manager Erik ten Hag. Despite speculations about Ten Hag's future, the club continued its association with the Dutch manager.

Meulensteen, who had been active in the Eredivisie before moving to England, spent only four months at United. His departure coincided with the appointment of Ruben Amorim as Ten Hag's successor, leading to the exit of several coaching staff, including Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Reflecting on his time at United, Meulensteen stated: "I hold no grudges against anyone. I had excellent interactions with the players, coaching staff, and everyone involved at the club. Personally, I ensured a proper farewell with all."

He added: "Although my tenure was brief, I sensed a deep passion to rebuild a strong team, aiming to revive the winning culture from the era of Sir Alex Ferguson, alongside the vision of INEOS, United's new owners."

Meulensteen also shared his experiences working with United's stars, including Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, and Alejandro Garnacho. He reserved special praise for Casemiro, stating: "Often, I felt Casemiro possessed a unique instinct for the game. When it truly matters, he has that sixth sense, anticipating on-field developments."
