Fulham Manager Marco Silva Contests Legitimacy of Liverpool's First Goal
Following Fulham's 2-2 draw against Liverpool, manager Marco Silva expressed dissatisfaction with the officiating, asserting that Liverpool's first goal should have been disallowed due to a foul in the buildup.
In the aftermath of Fulham's 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield, manager Marco Silva raised concerns regarding the validity of Liverpool's first goal. Silva contended that a foul on Fulham defender Kenny Tete by Liverpool's Luis Diaz occurred during the buildup to Cody Gakpo's equalizer, and that the goal should have been disallowed.
Speaking to reporters, Silva stated, "Based on Kenny's feedback, it's clear that a foul occurred. I believe a different decision should have been made."
This incident adds to a series of recent contentious decisions involving Fulham. Earlier in the season, Silva criticized the awarding of a penalty to Liverpool, describing the decision as "embarrassing."
The ongoing debates over refereeing decisions in matches between Fulham and Liverpool highlight the challenges officials face in maintaining consistency and fairness in high-stakes games.
