Rayo Vallecano doubled their advantage in the 36th minute as Abdul Mumin capitalized on a defensive lapse, heading the ball past goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois from a corner kick.
Real Madrid responded swiftly. In the 39th minute, Federico Valverde unleashed a powerful long-range shot, finding the back of the net to make it 2-1. Just before halftime, Jude Bellingham continued his impressive form by heading in a cross from Rodrygo, leveling the score at 2-2.
The second half saw Real Madrid take the lead in the 56th minute. Rodrygo struck from the edge of the box, his shot deflecting off a defender and into the goal, putting the visitors ahead 3-2.
However, Rayo Vallecano equalized in the 64th minute when captain Isi Palazón found space between defenders to redirect a cross into the net, bringing the score to 3-3.
Despite late efforts, including a disallowed goal by Arda Güler and appeals for a penalty on Vinícius Júnior, Real Madrid couldn't secure the win. This draw leaves them in second place with 37 points, one point behind leaders Barcelona, who have a game in hand.
