Milinkovic-Savic Content at Al Hilal, Dismissing Return Rumors
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic's agent refutes Italian media claims of his return, affirming the player's satisfaction with life and career at Al Hilal.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, the Serbian midfielder for Al Hilal, is reportedly content with his current club and has no plans to return to Italy, according to his agent, Uros Jankovic.
Milinkovic-Savic, 29, transferred to Al Hilal in the summer of 2023 for €40 million after an eight-year tenure at Lazio. Despite recent Italian media speculation about his potential return to Serie A, Jankovic clarified in an interview with the Serbian newspaper 'Informer' that these rumors are unfounded.
Jankovic stated, "The news about Sergej's return to Italy is incorrect. He is very satisfied with life at Al Hilal and in Riyadh, and his family shares this sentiment. His future is entirely with Al Hilal." He further expressed confidence in the team's prospects, highlighting their opportunity to showcase quality in the upcoming 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
Since joining Al Hilal, Milinkovic-Savic has delivered impressive performances, recording 10 goals and 4 assists in 23 matches this season. Jankovic emphasized the player's positive relationship with head coach Jorge Jesus, noting that Milinkovic-Savic has been instrumental in the team's success, contributing to four championship titles and a record-breaking winning streak over the past 18 months.
Regarding a potential return to European football, Jankovic acknowledged that while such a move might be considered as Milinkovic-Savic approaches the latter stages of his career, his current focus remains solely on Al Hilal and the Saudi Pro League.
Jankovic also praised the club's management and the quality of life in Riyadh, mentioning that Milinkovic-Savic and his family reside in the luxurious Al Bustan neighborhood, which offers amenities comparable to those in major global cities.
