Herve Renard Holds Critical Meetings with Saudi National Team: 'I Have Zero Tolerance for Mistakes'
Herve Renard, head coach of the Saudi Arabian national football team, conducted intensive meetings with defenders and midfielders, emphasizing his intolerance for errors following recent unsatisfactory performances against Indonesia and Australia.
Herve Renard, recently reappointed as the head coach of the Saudi Arabian national football team, has initiated a series of focused meetings with his squad to address defensive and midfield errors observed in recent matches. According to Saudi media reports, Renard held separate sessions with defenders and midfielders, each lasting approximately 20 minutes, to analyze mistakes made during the games against Indonesia and Australia. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the team's performance, particularly highlighting 'strange mistakes' in defense and midfield that led to unfavorable results.
Renard's objective is to rectify these issues ahead of the upcoming Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Nations Cup, with the team currently undergoing a training camp in Riyadh. A friendly match against Trinidad and Tobago is scheduled as part of their preparations.
Renard's return to the Saudi national team comes after a previous tenure from 2019 to 2023, during which he led the team to a historic victory over Argentina in the 2022 World Cup. His reappointment follows the departure of Roberto Mancini, with Renard now tasked with revitalizing the team's performance and securing qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
