Shahin Criticizes Dortmund's Performance Against Hoffenheim: 'We Were Awful and Weak!'
Borussia Dortmund's head coach, Nuri Sahin, expressed strong dissatisfaction with his team's performance in the 1-1 draw against Hoffenheim, labeling it as one of their worst displays this season.
In a match held at Signal Iduna Park, Borussia Dortmund managed only a 1-1 draw against Hoffenheim, continuing a series of underwhelming results this season. This outcome has seen Dortmund drop to eighth place in the Bundesliga standings with 22 points, while Hoffenheim remains in 14th position with 14 points.
Head coach Nuri Sahin did not mince words in the post-match press conference, stating: "We delivered a very poor and awful performance. This can be considered one of Dortmund's weakest matches this season. We lacked energy, failed to create opportunities, and made unnecessary errors with the ball. Although an early goal at the start of the second half was a positive, it only allowed us to control the game for a few minutes. If you want to win such matches, you must be able to defend a one-goal lead until the end. I'm very angry and upset that we lost two valuable points at home in this manner."
On the positive side, Sahin noted the return of players from injury, highlighting Giovanni Reyna's performance: "Currently, all players are returning one by one, which is a good thing for our team. You saw that Giovanni Reyna played very well today and managed to score again."
Regarding potential winter transfers, Sahin mentioned: "We need to see in which positions we require players, and ultimately, the team will certainly be strengthened. We've only completed a third of the season, and there are many matches remaining."
