PSG vs. Lyon Halted Due to Offensive Chants from Ultras
The Ligue 1 match between PSG and Lyon was temporarily stopped as persistent offensive chants from PSG's ultras disrupted play at the Parc des Princes.
The Ligue 1 clash between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Olympique Lyon was interrupted due to offensive chants from the ultras in the Parc des Princes stands. The disruptions began late in the first half, prompting stadium announcements requesting fans to cease the derogatory slogans.
Despite the warnings, the chants resumed in the second half, leading the referee to pause the game. PSG captain Achraf Hakimi personally approached the ultras section to address the issue, urging them to calm down. The match eventually resumed after the offensive behavior subsided.
PSG has faced similar incidents in the past. In October, the French disciplinary committee ordered the closure of the ultras' section for one match due to abusive chants during a game against Strasbourg. This latest incident raises concerns about recurring fan misconduct, with potential for stricter penalties against PSG.
