Joshua Kimmich Urges Bayern Munich to Sign Florian Wirtz
During a fan event, Bayern Munich captain Joshua Kimmich recommended to sporting director Max Eberl the acquisition of Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz in the upcoming transfer window.
At a Christmas fan club gathering near Lake Constance, Bayern Munich captain Joshua Kimmich engaged with supporters and openly discussed his transfer wish for the winter window. When asked which player he would suggest to sporting director Max Eberl, Kimmich responded, 'Florian Wirtz.' The 21-year-old German international is currently under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2027.
Kimmich also addressed his own future, with his contract set to expire in 2025. He acknowledged the importance of this decision, stating, 'Everyone knows my situation. For me, it's a very important decision. I know what I have at Bayern. My family feels comfortable in Munich. On the other hand, you also have a specific career plan in mind. You have to weigh what you want and where you want to go.'
When questioned about which coach has most contributed to his development, Kimmich mentioned several former coaches, including Alexander Zorniger, Hansi Flick, Carlo Ancelotti, and Jupp Heynckes, notably omitting current coach Thomas Tuchel and former coach Julian Nagelsmann.
