Monaco Faces Setback: American Star Florian Balogun Sidelined for Four Months
AS Monaco's key striker, Florian Balogun, undergoes shoulder surgery, ruling him out for four months and impacting the team's offensive lineup.
AS Monaco's American forward, Florian Balogun, has undergone shoulder surgery and will be absent from the pitch for approximately four months. Balogun initially suffered a shoulder dislocation in late November during a match against Brest, causing him to miss subsequent games against Benfica in the Champions League and Marseille in Ligue 1, both of which Monaco lost.
Despite his return in the match against Toulouse, Monaco's struggles persisted, culminating in a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in the Champions League and a goalless draw against Reims. Head coach Adi Hütter confirmed Balogun's surgery and his expected four-month recovery period. In response to this setback, Hütter expressed interest in acquiring Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain during the January transfer window to bolster Monaco's attacking options.
