Laporta Unhappy: We Should Not Have Dropped Points

Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, has expressed dissatisfaction with the team’s recent performance and dropped points in La Liga. Speaking during a press conference, Laporta also outlined plans to finalize the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.

Laporta emphasized that securing these two players remains a top priority for the club before the end of the year. “We have been working for weeks to explore legal pathways that will allow us to register these players without any issues,” Laporta explained.

The Barcelona president revealed that the club is utilizing the wage relief created by the absence of goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who is sidelined until the end of the season due to a long-term injury. “Ter Stegen’s salary space gives us room to bring in Olmo and Victor. This situation must be handled efficiently,” he added.

Discussing Barcelona’s financial challenges, Laporta stressed the importance of the club’s ongoing negotiations with Nike over a lucrative sponsorship deal. “A strong partnership with Nike will provide financial fair play flexibility. We hope to finalize this deal by Saturday, and it could become the best contract in the sports equipment industry,” he stated confidently.

Laporta’s comments come at a time when Barcelona is facing scrutiny for inconsistent results, which have hindered their efforts to challenge for the La Liga title. “We cannot afford to drop more points. We need to focus and deliver results,” he concluded.
