Marotta: Atalanta Is the Rabbit, and We Must Hunt Them
Inter Milan’s president Giuseppe Marotta compared Atalanta to a rabbit being chased by Serie A contenders while praising their winning mentality and consistency.
Giuseppe Marotta, the president of Inter Milan, likened Atalanta to a rabbit being pursued by other teams in the race for the Serie A title this season.
Speaking at the 2024 Italian Sports Awards organized by Gazzetta dello Sport, Marotta praised Atalanta’s unique qualities and mental strength. “Atalanta is a global model of a winning team with remarkable characteristics. Their most defining feature is their winning mindset, which is not easily achieved,” Marotta said.
He added: “They manage the pressures of a tough season very well. From my perspective, Atalanta is like a rabbit, and the other contenders in Serie A are the hunters chasing after them.”
Marotta also took a moment to highlight Inter manager Simone Inzaghi’s leadership. “Simone has a huge advantage: he was a footballer. He understands the dynamics of football better than most. Over the years, he has grown significantly and gained invaluable experience to reach this level of success.”
Currently, Atalanta is considered a serious contender for the Serie A title, challenging top teams like Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Juventus in a highly competitive campaign.
