Kaka Delighted as Vinicius Named FIFA Best Player 2024
Kaka congratulated Vinicius Junior on winning FIFA Best Men’s Player, expressing pride in seeing another Brazilian honored with the prestigious award.
Kaka, the former star of the Brazil national team and Real Madrid, expressed his happiness and pride over Vinicius Junior winning the FIFA Best Men’s Player award for 2024.
After the official ceremony, where Vinicius edged out Rodri and Jude Bellingham by a margin of five votes, Kaka shared his thoughts via an Instagram post. Posting a picture of himself embracing Vinicius, he wrote: “I am so happy to see another Brazilian being named the best player of the year by FIFA.”
Vinicius’s recognition comes after his stellar season with Real Madrid, during which he delivered remarkable performances both domestically and in the UEFA Champions League. This victory is particularly significant for Brazil, as it marks the return of a Brazilian player to global football’s highest individual honor.
It is worth noting that Kaka himself achieved similar success in 2007 when he won both the Ballon d’Or and the FIFA Best Player awards while at AC Milan. He was also a consistent figure in the FIFA World XI from 2006 to 2008.
Since retiring in 2017 after his time with Orlando City in the MLS, Kaka has largely stepped away from football. Unlike many of his peers, he has shown little interest in entering coaching or football management.
Vinicius Junior’s triumph further solidifies Brazil’s legacy in producing world-class players, and Kaka’s support highlights the sense of pride felt across the Brazilian football community.
