Capello: 'I've Seen Stars Afraid to Play for Real Madrid'
Fabio Capello discusses the challenges players face adapting to Real Madrid's environment, noting that even top talents have feared playing for the club.
Former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello, who led the team to two La Liga titles during his tenures, recently shared insights into the difficulties players encounter when joining such a prestigious club. He remarked, "Adapting to a big team like Real Madrid is challenging. I've seen very great players who were afraid to play for Real."
Capello also commented on Kylian Mbappé's initial months at the club, stating, "Mbappé had issues off the pitch, but it seems he's now returned to his good and normal form. He possesses immense power and class. I like Kylian a lot and believe he's a player on a different level. His adaptation process at Real is similar to Michel Platini's at Juventus, who took six months to showcase his best at Juve."
Regarding current Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, Capello noted, "One must be patient, but Real Madrid lacks patience, as do the fans and journalists. Ancelotti's problem is that he's won too many trophies. People think he should immediately achieve good results. When he wins, they criticize him for winning with an Italian style, and when he plays more offensively, they say he doesn't defend enough!"
