Martinez, who has played alongside Messi for Argentina, shares a history of triumphs, including two Copa América titles, a Finalissima, and the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The two have appeared together 22 times for the national team, forming a close bond through shared successes.
"In my life, I always look to Leo Messi as my role model," Martinez said. "He endured many challenges with Argentina. His persistence, his refusal to give up, and his dedication to hard work are inspiring. He suffered setbacks, like losing a World Cup final, but he never stopped pushing forward. Look at the incredible success he achieved despite those obstacles."
Martinez also reflected on his club career, having made 83 appearances for Manchester United since joining from Ajax in 2022. He remains a cornerstone of the team’s defense under Ruben Amorim.
