AC Milan's Christian Pulisic Suffers Ankle Injury Ahead of Crucial Roma Clash

Christian Pulisic, the American winger for AC Milan, has encountered a setback after his recent return from a calf injury. Pulisic was expected to feature in the crucial match against AS Roma, but a last-minute ankle injury has ruled him out of the game.

Pulisic sustained the initial calf injury during Milan's 2-1 loss to Atalanta in early December, where he was forced to leave the field. Although his recovery progressed ahead of schedule, allowing him to be considered for the Roma fixture, the new ankle issue emerged during the final training sessions.

Head coach Paulo Fonseca confirmed the development, expressing disappointment over Pulisic's unavailability. He stated, "We were counting on Christian for this important match, but unfortunately, he experienced discomfort in his ankle over the past two days, leading to his exclusion from the squad."

This injury adds to Milan's challenges as they prepare to face a resurgent Roma side under manager Claudio Ranieri. The Rossoneri will need to adjust their attacking strategies in Pulisic's absence, relying on other key players to step up in this pivotal encounter.
