Oman Denies Threatening to Withdraw from Semi-Final Against Saudi Arabia

The Omani Football Association has addressed recent reports suggesting that Oman threatened to withdraw from their upcoming semi-final match against Saudi Arabia in the Gulf Cup. These reports emerged following discussions about potential changes to the match's timing and venue.

Mohsen Al-Masrouri, Vice President of the Omani Football Association, stated, "We opposed any changes or postponements to the match schedule, but this had nothing to do with stadium capacity. We are confident that our fans will support the team wholeheartedly." He emphasized that while they expressed their concerns through appropriate channels, no formal threat to withdraw was made.

Al-Masrouri further commented, "There are established rules and regulations in this tournament that must be adhered to. We did not announce our objections in the manner portrayed by the media." He concluded by affirming the unity among Gulf nations, stating, "We are all brothers, and we always resolve such matters amicably."

The semi-final between Saudi Arabia and Oman is scheduled for Tuesday at Al-Sulaibikhat Stadium, with the other semi-final between Bahrain and Kuwait set to take place at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium on the same day.
