Inter Milan Defeats Atalanta 2-0 to Reach Italian Super Cup Final

In a decisive Italian Super Cup semi-final, Inter Milan triumphed over Atalanta with a 2-0 win, earning their place in the final for the fourth consecutive year. The match, held in Riyadh, showcased Inter's dominance, particularly in the second half.

The first half concluded goalless, with Inter creating several opportunities but being thwarted by Atalanta's goalkeeper, Marco Carnesecchi. Inter's coach, Simone Inzaghi, made a strategic substitution at halftime, introducing Mehdi Taremi to bolster the attack.

The breakthrough came in the 49th minute when Denzel Dumfries executed a spectacular overhead kick following a corner, giving Inter the lead. Dumfries doubled the advantage in the 61st minute with a powerful strike from the edge of the penalty area, capitalizing on a swift counter-attack.

Atalanta attempted to respond, and in the 72nd minute, Ederson found the net. However, after a VAR review, the goal was disallowed for offside. Inter maintained control for the remainder of the match, with goalkeeper Yann Sommer making crucial saves to preserve the clean sheet.

Inter now awaits the winner of the other semi-final between Juventus and AC Milan, aiming to secure their first trophy of 2025.
