Arteta Reflects on Five Years at Arsenal
Mikel Arteta marks his fifth anniversary as Arsenal manager, emphasizing his focus on the present and the importance of continuous improvement for the team.
Mikel Arteta, Arsenal's head coach, reflected on his five years at the club in a press conference ahead of their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace. Arteta discussed the challenges and joys of his tenure, highlighting his growth and the team’s ongoing journey.
“Time has flown by,” Arteta remarked. “I’ve enjoyed every minute, despite the challenges. My focus is always on giving my best every day for this team.”
When asked about his future, Arteta replied, “I don’t think about another five years. It’s important to live in the moment. Of course, you plan for the medium and long term, but everything happens in the now.”
Arteta also addressed the need for Arsenal to improve in all aspects. “When I started, I was very focused on tactics. But after two months, I realized that tactics are meaningless if you can’t adapt to the moment. Football is dynamic, and we must constantly evolve.”
Heading into the match against Crystal Palace, Arsenal is eager to close the gap on league leaders Liverpool, especially following their draw against Everton in the previous fixture. Arteta’s leadership and philosophy continue to shape Arsenal's pursuit of success in the Premier League.
