PSG Surprises Mbappe with Birthday Tribute Amid Ongoing Dispute

In the midst of a €55 million legal battle, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) did not overlook Kylian Mbappe's 26th birthday. The French club extended public birthday wishes to their former star, now with Real Madrid, via social media—a gesture that surprised many, including Mbappe himself.

This marks PSG's first public acknowledgment of Mbappe since his departure was confirmed in February, when the forward announced he would not renew his contract with the Parisian club. Notably, PSG refrained from organizing any farewell ceremony for him at the end of the season.

The ongoing legal dispute centers on Mbappe's claim for €55 million in unpaid wages and bonuses from his former club. Recently, the Legal Commission of the French League declined to comment on Mbappe's request for payment, and the player rejected a proposed reconciliation in September. Consequently, the matter is expected to proceed to public courts for resolution.

Despite these tensions, PSG chose to honor Mbappe's contributions over seven seasons, during which he became a pivotal figure, surpassing Edinson Cavani's scoring record and helping the team reach the UEFA Champions League final in 2020.
