Robinho's Tragic Story: Winter in Prison
Once a football superstar, Robinho now faces a grim reality, spending his winter in prison due to a 2013 legal case.
The sad story of Robinho, the former Brazilian football star, continues to unravel. The ex-player for Real Madrid, Manchester City, and AC Milan, once celebrated as one of the world's best, now lives a far bleaker reality.
Robinho, along with his close friend Ricardo Falco, was convicted in 2013 of assaulting an Albanian woman in Milan. Initially freed on bail, hopes of his legal team to overturn the conviction were dashed. On March 21, 2024, Robinho began serving his nine-year prison sentence.
Despite being eligible for temporary release to spend the New Year with his family, the Brazilian prison authorities confirmed, "Robson de Souza cannot be temporarily released without a new court order, which has not been issued." The 40-year-old, a father of three, will remain in custody for the holiday season.
Robinho's legacy includes 101 appearances for Real Madrid, 108 for AC Milan, and 100 caps for the Brazilian national team. Yet, his current circumstances mark a sharp contrast to the illustrious career he once enjoyed.
