Bayern Goalkeeper Peretz Declares Ambition to Be No.1

Daniel Peretz, who joined Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023 for €5 million, has made his intentions clear: he wants to become the club’s number one goalkeeper. Despite Manuel Neuer holding the top spot, Peretz has impressed during the winter break, showcasing his skills in five consecutive matches after Neuer's rib injury in the DFB-Pokal clash against Bayer Leverkusen.

Speaking about his ambitions, Peretz stated, "I have a strong desire to play more. My ultimate dream is to become Bayern’s first-choice goalkeeper. Even though replacing someone like Neuer is a monumental task, I am prepared to work hard to achieve it."

Peretz, under contract with Bayern until 2028, has emphasized the importance of patience, consistent performance, and faith in his abilities. "I am happy with my progress, the club’s support, and my life in Munich," he added.

While Neuer may extend his contract until 2026, competition for his successor is heating up. Peretz might consider a loan move to gain more playing experience. Meanwhile, Alexander Nübel, currently on loan at Stuttgart until 2026, also eyes the top spot at Bayern.

The battle for Bayern’s goalkeeping future has begun, with Peretz and Nübel positioning themselves as potential successors to Neuer’s legacy.
