De Bruyne's Heated Reaction: Ignoring Pep and Fans

Following Manchester City's 1-1 draw against Everton, Kevin De Bruyne's unexpected behavior drew criticism from experts and fans alike.

De Bruyne's Heated Reaction: Ignoring Pep and Fans

Kevin De Bruyne, the Belgian midfielder for Manchester City, entered the Boxing Day match against Everton at Etihad Stadium in the 75th minute. Despite his presence, the game concluded in a 1-1 draw.

At the final whistle, instead of joining his teammates for post-match interviews or acknowledging the fans, De Bruyne headed directly and angrily towards the tunnel, disregarding awaiting reporters.

On his way off the pitch, he encountered Pep Guardiola, but their interaction appeared far from friendly. Given City's recent form—securing only one win in their last 13 matches across all competitions—such frustration isn't entirely unexpected.

Adrian Durham, a Talksport presenter, observed: "Notably, Kevin De Bruyne was probably the first to head down the tunnel without speaking to anyone."

Former City defender Danny Mills added: "I noticed that; he left the field swiftly. Pep approached him, but De Bruyne's demeanor was quite abrupt. He seemed very unhappy, likely disappointed with both the result and his limited 15-minute playtime."

Fans quickly reacted to De Bruyne's swift exit. One commented: "Can't blame him; I'd do the same." Another stated: "It's shameful to keep him on the bench for so long." Conversely, some criticized his actions, suggesting it might be time for him to move on.

Currently in the final year of his contract, De Bruyne has struggled with injuries this season, recording only two goals and two assists in 10 Premier League appearances.
