Dani Carvajal Targets Return for FIFA Club World Cup After Severe Knee Injury
Real Madrid's right-back and captain, Dani Carvajal, aims to recover from his serious knee injury in time to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup scheduled for early June next year.
Dani Carvajal, the esteemed right-back and captain of Real Madrid, has set his sights on returning to action for the FIFA Club World Cup in early June, following a significant knee injury. In a recent interview, Carvajal stated, 'Complete knee recovery takes its own time, but I have set the Club World Cup as my goal. As the date approaches, we'll assess if it's feasible.' Currently, he is progressing in his rehabilitation, walking almost without crutches, engaging in cycling, and focusing on flexibility exercises. He expressed motivation from these small milestones, acknowledging the lengthy recovery process but expressing satisfaction with his progress.
Reflecting on Real Madrid's situation, Carvajal noted, 'From the outside, things may seem much more challenging. You gain a different perspective on the team and how you can contribute. I try to assist by communicating with my teammates and inquiring about their well-being. Watching games from the sidelines is the hardest part of recovery.' He observed that numerous injuries have limited squad rotation, increasing the risk of further injuries among players. Despite these challenges, he believes the team has managed well so far and eagerly anticipates contributing on the field again.
Concluding his remarks, Carvajal optimistically added, 'Who knows, perhaps this injury will extend my professional career by a few more years.'
