Arthur Melo Eyes La Liga Return After Juventus Snub
Arthur Melo, former Barcelona midfielder, seeks a move back to La Liga in January after being sidelined at Juventus this season.
Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo, who previously played for Barcelona, is looking to return to La Liga during the January transfer window after a challenging period at Juventus. Despite being included in Juventus's Champions League squad at the season's start, Arthur has not featured in any official matches under coach Thiago Motta.
Arthur has declined offers from Olympiacos and several Brazilian clubs, expressing a desire to continue competing at the highest level in Europe. His preferred destination is La Liga, with Real Betis emerging as a leading candidate for his signature. Italian sources also report interest from Girona, Valencia, and Villarreal.
Last season, Arthur had a productive loan spell at Fiorentina, making 48 appearances and scoring two goals. However, Fiorentina did not exercise the purchase option. Currently, Real Betis is negotiating a loan deal with Juventus, potentially including a purchase option valued at around €10 million. A significant hurdle remains Arthur's salary, as he earns €5 million net annually in Turin.
