Marco Rose: Leipzig Not Yet Bayern's Main Rival
Leipzig coach Marco Rose admits his team has a long way to go to challenge Bayern Munich as they prepare for a crucial Bundesliga clash.
Marco Rose, head coach of RB Leipzig, has stated that his team is not yet Bayern Munich's primary rival in German football. Speaking ahead of their upcoming Bundesliga encounter with Bayern, Rose acknowledged Leipzig's current position and their need to grow stronger.
Bayern Munich leads the Bundesliga table with 33 points, followed by Leverkusen with 29, while Leipzig stands fourth with 27 points. Rose remarked, "To be honest, we are not yet Bayern's main competitors. We still have a long journey ahead to reach that level."
He expressed optimism for the second half of the season, particularly with the potential return of key injured players such as Xaver Schlager, Xavi Simons, and David Raum. "When our squad is fully fit, we can compete more effectively," Rose added.
Rose also praised Bayern’s star forward Harry Kane, highlighting his impressive record of 14 goals and 7 assists this season. "Kane has the unique ability to make a difference in games, which makes him truly exceptional," he said.
