Haaland: 'I Admit I Haven't Been Good Enough'

Erling Haaland, the Norwegian striker for Manchester City, admitted that both he and his team have not been performing at their best. His comments came following City’s 2-1 loss to Aston Villa, a result that marked their ninth defeat in the last twelve matches.

"I know my recent performances haven’t been good enough," Haaland told reporters after the game. "I have to work harder and perform better. The team and I are capable of much more."

Despite the disappointing result, Haaland praised City’s supporters. "Our fans were amazing today," he said. "Their unwavering support means everything, and I’m truly grateful. We will turn this around."

Haaland expressed confidence in manager Pep Guardiola, highlighting his track record of success. "Pep has been the backbone of this team for seven years. He’s won six Premier League titles in that time, and I have no doubt he’ll find the solutions we need," Haaland stated.

City’s only goal in the match came from Phil Foden in the dying moments, but it wasn’t enough to secure a point. Haaland emphasized the need for the team to regroup and improve as they continue their Premier League campaign.
