Arteta: We Should Have Scored More, But I'm Happy
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expresses satisfaction with the 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town, despite believing the team could have scored more goals.
Arsenal secured a 1-0 win against Ipswich Town in their recent Premier League encounter at the Emirates Stadium, propelling them to second place in the standings. Manager Mikel Arteta shared his thoughts post-match, highlighting both positives and areas for improvement.
Arteta expressed his pleasure with the clean sheet and the team's overall dominance, stating, 'I'm very happy with this win. Keeping a clean sheet and dominating large parts of the game is satisfying. Ipswich posed a tough challenge, and while we created numerous chances, especially in the second half, we could have been more clinical in front of goal.'
Regarding Bukayo Saka's injury, Arteta provided an update: 'I'd prefer to leave this to the medical team, but unfortunately, he'll be out for several weeks.' On Raheem Sterling's fitness, he added, 'He's improving. We'll assess his progress this week, but we need him back soon.'
Reflecting on the team's game management compared to the previous match against Crystal Palace, Arteta noted significant improvement: 'In terms of game management, I'm much more satisfied. We controlled the game better and limited their chances.'
The victory marks a positive step for Arsenal as they continue their pursuit of the Premier League title, with Arteta emphasizing the importance of consistency and clinical finishing in upcoming fixtures.
