Cristiano Ronaldo: Future Portugal National Team Coach?
Rene Meulensteen discusses Cristiano Ronaldo's potential post-retirement plans, suggesting that Ronaldo's passion lies in managing Portugal's national team rather than a club.
Rene Meulensteen, a former coach during Sir Alex Ferguson's tenure at Manchester United, shared insights into Cristiano Ronaldo's potential future after retirement. Despite showing no signs of slowing down at 39, speculation about Ronaldo's career after football continues to grow.
Many anticipated seeing Ronaldo transition to coaching, but the Portuguese star recently dismissed this idea in an interview, stating, “I don’t enjoy coaching.”
Instead, Ronaldo's interests seem to align with management roles within football clubs or organizations. While some believe he might return to Manchester United in a managerial capacity, Meulensteen strongly disagrees. “Cristiano has a strong personality and immense passion for his country. I believe that if he pursues a managerial position, it would likely be with Portugal's national team,” he explained.
Meulensteen added, “Ronaldo's love for Portugal is unmatched, and his leadership qualities make him an ideal candidate for such a role in the future.”
