Simone Inzaghi Poised to Extend Inter Milan Contract Until 2028
Inter Milan and head coach Simone Inzaghi are reportedly in discussions to extend his contract by an additional two years, potentially keeping him at the club until 2028. This move reflects the club's confidence in Inzaghi's leadership following their recent Serie A triumph.
Inter Milan is considering extending head coach Simone Inzaghi's contract by two more years, which would secure his position until 2028. Inzaghi, who joined Inter from Lazio three years ago, has led the team to significant successes, including a Serie A title in the 2023-2024 season. Under his guidance, Inter has achieved 119 wins, 33 draws, and 28 losses over 180 matches.
Currently, Inter stands third in Serie A with 34 points, trailing leaders Napoli by four points but with two games in hand. In the UEFA Champions League, Inzaghi's squad has performed admirably, securing their place in the knockout stages with four wins, one draw, and one loss in the group phase.
According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, both the club and Inzaghi are eager to continue their collaboration. Inzaghi's current contract, extended in July 2024, runs until 2026 with an annual salary of €6.5 million, making him the highest-paid coach in Serie A. The proposed extension would see him become the second-longest-serving manager in Inter's history, following the legendary Helenio Herrera, who managed the club from 1960 to 1968.
This potential extension underscores Inter Milan's commitment to long-term stability and their confidence in Inzaghi's ability to maintain the team's competitive edge in both domestic and European competitions.
