Flick Cancels Barcelona's Christmas Break for Recovery
Hansi Flick has restructured Barcelona's Christmas routine, canceling the holiday break to focus on recovery and analysis sessions after the Atlético Madrid clash.
Barcelona players will not have their usual Christmas holiday this year, as coach Hansi Flick has altered the team’s routine. Following their final match of 2024 against Atlético Madrid, the team will stay in Montjuïc for a light recovery session and tactical analysis on Sunday.
Unlike previous seasons, players will not immediately leave for their Christmas vacations. Flick has decided to retain the squad for one additional day to discuss the game and assess individual performances.
Despite a short break, the team will return to training later in the week, with an open training session scheduled for December 29. On January 4, they will face Barbastro in the Copa del Rey Round of 16, followed by the Spanish Super Cup semifinals against Athletic Bilbao on January 8 in Saudi Arabia. A potential final against Real Madrid or Mallorca awaits on January 12.
Barcelona’s packed January schedule also includes crucial La Liga matches against Getafe and Valencia, as well as Champions League fixtures against Benfica and Atalanta. Flick aims to keep his players in peak condition amid this challenging calendar.
